Truth: Michigan has to run the ball better

The win over Michigan State doesn't change the fact that the Wolverines face three top-10 teams in the last four games.

Ohio State will be frothing at the mouth. Oregon is a juggernaut, and Indiana is also batting for a playoff spot. Two of those three games are on the road too.

Northwestern is one game Michigan football HAS to win. Anything else is gravy. But if the Wolverines are going to have a chance they have to run the ball better.

Give Michigan State credit. The Spartans run defense was on point and their front was controlling the line of scrimmage for most of the night. Michigan had just 119 rushing yards and 64 were from the QB (Orji). Alex Orji generated the two best runs and it's imperative that Michigan football keep using him going forward, along with Davis Warren.

The Wolverines found the right combination at quarterback. Now, the offensive line needs to start showing some improvement. November is their time to shine and if Michigan has designs on any upsets in November, the run game will have to be much better than it has been the past three weeks.
