Michigan football only has three commitments in the 2026 recruiting class so far, but the Wolverines have the framework in place for an elite class.

Michigan can obviously play the NIL game. We saw that with Bryce Underwood and that has the Wolverines back in a lot of recruitments that they probably wouldn't have been in on a couple of years ago.

This spring, Michigan has around 50 recruits coming for visits, and there are two more names to add to that list in the 2026 class. One of them is top-100 tight end prospect Brock Harris.

The 6-foot-6 238-pound tight end out of St. George, Utah, is ranked 56th overall according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He's also ranked fifth among tight ends and he will visit Michigan football on March 28th according to Blair Angulo of 247 Sports.

BYU, Utah, Georgia, and Miami are listed as "warm" on his 247 Sports profile. It's an interesting recruitment, especially since Michigan football has been trending as the favorite to land Matt Ludwig, a four-star tight end from Montana, who had a thunderous dunk on Thursday night at the Montana Class AA state basketball tournament.

Another 4-star to visit Michigan football

It's no secret that the Wolverines need more playmakers on offense, and another candidate to join the 2026 class is four-star athlete Nasir Rankin. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound athlete is ranked 194th overall in the 2026 class, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.

Rankin is a wide receiver who totaled 991 receiving yards last season on 40 receptions. That's an average of 24.8 yards per receptions. He also had six interceptions as a sophomore.

Rankin is out of Chicago. Illinois is the crystal ball favorite right now, but according to The Michigan insider, the blue-chip athlete will visit the Wolverines this spring, which will be the second visit in the past few months which could be an opening for the Wolverines to grab the lead away from Illinois.
