With the basketball transfer portal beginning to slow a bit, there has not been any news of any new transfers for the Wolverines, but former players who have found their next home. One of those former players is guard Jace Howard, who spent five years with the Wolverines in Ann Arbor.
Howard has committed to play what looks to be his final year of eligibility at Fordham in New York City. The former Michigan guard is most known for being the son of ex-Michigan coach Juwan Howard, who was fired in March of 2024 after a very disappointing season with the Wolverines.
Jace will now have an opportunity to be a big fish in a small pond at Fordham, especially with the talent that head coach Dusty May brought into the program this season.

In five years at Michigan, Howard played in just 70 games and didn't have a single start. He saw the court the most in his junior season when he appeared in 30 games and averaged just about eight minutes a night. In the final season with his father as the head coach, Howard had his highest point average with 2.6 points per game and 1.8 rebounds.
In this past season, Howard was one of the guys used further down on the bench sparingly, only seeing the court five times during the 2024-2025 season. That easily could have been the reason for his choice to transfer this offseason.
Howard is joining a Fordham squad that finished with a 12-21 record last season, so he has the ability to go in and make some big changes for their basketball program. The best of luck to Howard with his future team, and the Maize and Blue thank him for his five years at Michigan.
