Sherrone Moore teases another commitment for Michigan football
As poorly as things have gone on the field for Michigan football in 2024, Sherrone Moore is doing everything he can, on the recruiting trail, to make sure this is just a one-year thing.
That means adding talent for the future and also next season, which will happen with impact freshman and also getting reinforcements in the transfer portal.
I expect Michigan football to be aggressive when it comes to adding via the portal. But the Wolverines are being aggressive on the recruiting trail too, especially with NIL, and it's really starting to pay off.
The NIL factor has Michigan football in the mix to flip five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood from LSU. U-M also just landed five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola, flipped a top-100 commitment from Georgia, was projected to land another top-100 commitment, and hosted a five-star wideout in the 2025 class for a visit.
On top of all that, Michigan football has been working to flip four-star defensive back Elijah Dotson from Pittsburgh. Ranked No. 297 overall, Dotson is from Belleville, Michigan, and is a teammate of Underwood's.
Dotson isn't just some consolation prize or a piece you get to try and land Underwood. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound defensive back is ranked 118th overall according to 247 Sports own rankings. 247 also has him rated as the second-best player in the state of Michigan.
It would be another huge win for Moore and secondary coach Lamar Morgan, who has been on fire during the 2025 cycle. Moore tweeted out "Go Blue" this morning, which usually means a commitment isn't far behind and if I had to guess, maybe Dotson, who is trending with expert projections to the Wolverines, pulls the trigger on a flip.
Graceson Littleton another top-100 cornerback who was committed to Clemson but is trending to the Wolverines, is another candidate to have committed.
