Sharmari Earls confidently hints at 5-star commitment for Michigan football

During a recent interview with Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider, Michigan football player Shamari Earls, a true freshman, was asked about players from Virginia who commit to Michigan. He responded to Webb, "Michigan is about to get a fourth one" from Virginia, and "that a lot of fans will be excited about this one". Earls was referring to the five-star running back, Savion Hiter, who hails from Virginia and is expected to announce a decision soon (August 19th).

He went on to say that he was unsure when he was committing, but Webb responded by saying he will commit on the 19th of this month. Earls played coy by mentioning the running back, without stating his name and Webb replied with "yea, yea". Earls finished his statements with saying he played against him before and that he was a "dawg".

Michigan is poised for another big recruiting win

By next week at this time, we should have a much clearer understanding of the intentions of the five-star prospect. One Michigan insider already thinks he is leaning towards the maize and blue, but other pundits are not so certain. If Michigan lands the coveted student-athlete over the Vols, it will be the second straight year that Michigan has snatched an SEC talent from one of their vaunted programs. Even Jim Harbaugh couldn't do that.

On a day when Peter Bourque committed, giving Michigan football its fourth top-10 quarterback in the last four cycles, things will explode if Hiter dons the maize and blue next Tuesday. Sherrone Moore is not slowing down while building another championship team.

These words should get Wolverine supporters fired up. With only a week away from his decision day, things are looking sunny for Hiter's outlook to Michigan. Coincidentally, On3 has him landing in Columbus, but no crystal balls have been declared for him yet by Rivals or 247sports. New updates on his recruitment should be coming any day now. Not too long ago, Hiter was reportedly down to Tennessee and Michigan for his services, so whoever dishes out the NIL will be rewarded with his presence.
