What Five Stars is Michigan Football in a Good Position for?

While 247 Sports does not have Carroll ranked as a five star, ON3 does, so I've chosen to include Carroll here. I think Carroll is the guy that Michigan football has the best shot with.

Michigan definitely had a strong lead over Carroll following his Spring visit to Ann Arbor, but Alabama and Penn State have made strong pushes and have reestablished themselves as contenders. This one is anybody's guess right now.

Carroll recently narrowed down his list of schools to four. The aforementioned three and Georgia. Michigan is scheduled to get the final official visit with Carroll on June 21st. That's an excellent sign and does give me some confidence here.

Michigan football absolutely wowed Carroll on his last visit and was the definitive leader. After over a month passed and he made two visits to Alabama, things got tighter but Bama did not necessarily gain the lead. That tells me that Michigan made a greater impact with their visit, which makes me confident knowing that the Wolverines will get the final say.

Look, NIL could definitely be a factor here. How many times have we seen elite recruits love Michigan and schedule a visit just to commit to an NIL program and cancel the visit? That's definitely a real threat given that Carroll visits Georgia and Alabama first. But as long as Michigan makes it to Victors Weekend with Carroll not committed, I like their chances.

This is definitely one to watch, and it'll be interesting to hear what comes out of Georgia and Alabama's visits.

These are the three five stars that Michigan has the best chances with currently. While it's very unlikely that the Wolverines land all three, I wouldn't at all be shocked if they landed one or two. Likewise, there are other top recruits that could become five stars down the line that Michigan is in a good position for.

Let's hope that the Wolverines can close strongly with these recruits. Go Blue!
