Two transfer defensive backs standing out for Michigan football

Michigan football landed a slew of transfers in the secondary and two are making a push to start this fall for the Wolverines.

Michigan football was busy adding reinforcements to the secondary this spring. The Wolverines added a couple of cornerbacks and a couple of safeties to the mix following spring ball to solidify the depth.

Through three weeks of fall camp, it looks like the Wolverines have reason to feel much better about the depth on the backend of the defense. Aamir Hall, a cornerback transfer from Albany is battling it out with Jyaire Hill for the starting cornerback job opposite of Will Johnson.

Hill has taken a big leap from his freshman season and the former top-200 recruit won't be easy to beat out but Hall is pushing him and according to Chris Hummer of 247 Sports, he's one of the two transfers to know in the secondary for Michigan football.

Two transfer DBs to know for Michigan football fans

"The Wolverines staff was very high on Aamir Hall upon adding transfer the Albany transfer, viewing him as a potential CB3 like Josh Wallace a season ago. The other transfer to know is safety  Wesley Walker, who was a starter at Tennessee last season before a brief tenure with Louisville this spring. Walker is in a fight with Quentin Johnson for a starting job opposite of safety Makari Paige."

Both players will probably start in sub roles for Michigan football but the Wolverines play a ton of sub-package defense. Last season they played four safeties a bunch and I expect them to do that again this season. They have the same idea at cornerback and nickel.
