Rod Moore expects Michigan football 'to go back-to-back'
A lot of people are underestimating the Michigan football program heading into the 2024 season. There are plenty of reasons for that. Jim Harbaugh is coaching in the NFL, 13 players were drafted from the Wolverines into the league and even more starters graduated.
The Wolverines have one starter returning on offense. On defense, Michigan lost a bunch of starters and starting-caliber players. However, Michigan football's cupboard is far from bare.
On defense alone, there are multiple first-round picks. Will Johnson and Mason Graham should each go in the top 10, while Kenneth Grant and Derrick Moore also have first-round potential. Then you have guys like Makari Paige, Jaishawn Barham, Ernest Hausmann, Josaiah Stewart, and Zeke Berry who has been called a future pro too.
Can Michigan football go back-to-back? Rod Moore says yes
The roster is loaded with talent, especialy on defense, even without another potential first-round pick in Rod Moore, who could miss the entire season due to an injury in spring ball. Moore was still voted a team captain though and it's clear he'll play a huge role on this team, even if he's not playing.
There's a chance he'll return by November and you can bet, he'd give anything for another shot at Ohio State, a team he has a career 3-0 record against.
Yet, even without himself on the field, Moore still believes the sky is the limit for Michigan football, and here's what he told the media on Thursday: "I expect to do what we did last year and go back-to-back."
That's a bold prediction but Moore has been around this team and has a better idea than most what it's capable of. He also knows what it takes to win a national championship and the closer we get to the 2024 Michigan football season, the more confident I am in what Team 145 can do.
