2nd quarter
On the second scoring sequence Sherrone Moore got tricky and nearly got J.J. McCarthy knocked out of the game. He dialed up a flea flicker to Roman Wilson that Donovan Edwards somehow avoided a major catastrophe by throwing it back to McCarthy, who made an outstanding one-handed catch just to salvage the play. He then floated it up in the air all while his body's motion's were taking him backwards to complete it for a 20 yard gain. This play lives on repeat on social media reels everywhere.
A few snaps later McCarthy hooked up with seldom-used Tyler Morris to give Michigan football the lead. He scampered 38 yards to the house and beat Alabama defenders to the pile-on. The Tide responded with a 50-yarder from Will Reichard before halftime. Michigan was on top at the break 13-10 in the granddaddy of them all. No one could have dreamt what we were all in store for when the second half kicked off.
