10 years have passed since the last EA Sports football video game was released and not much has changed, at least on the cover of the popular video game. Another Michigan football player will grace it as the defending national champions. The anticipation will grow as the release date inches closer and more questions should be answered on how the updated version will be better than ever before.

For now "The Don" gets to share the honor for a record fourth time that a Wolverine is the cover athlete. He may not be the most deserving by a wide margin, but when you're Michigan football and the reigning national champions, then you get to reap the rewards of living in the limelight. The following are arguably the three names who could be Michigan's highest-rated players in the game once it officially comes out in July.

1. Will Johnson

Johnson should be Michigan's highest rated player in the new game. He's a top ten, if not top five pick in the 2025 NFL draft and that will factor into his rating. CBS sports and 247sports did not rank him in their top 10 athletes and each had Travis Hunter as their number one overall corner.

Johnson should be in the 96 to 99 range with others, but based on these results he'll probably be more in the 90-95 range. If I had to take a stab at it I would personally give Johnson a 94 overall rating. However it should only go up as your season progresses. Jo'Ziah Edmond has a chance to be the highest rated defensive recruit presumably in the 70's area.

The second cornerback spot won't be anywhere near Johnson, but Jaden McBurrows and Jyaire Hill will likely hover around the 75-85 range. If Rod Moore is available, like injured players used to be, then you can roll with three starting caliber safeties on Michigan's defense in the game.
