Michigan football: Which recruit from Early Signing Day will make the biggest impact next season?
It was a productive Early Signing Day for Michigan football. The Wolverines didn't land any five-star recruits and they didn't sign a top-5 class.
However, Michigan football landed four top-125 recruits. They signed those players at quarterback, running back, and left tackle. They also got a potential steal at cornerback, as well as three EDGE prospects who all have NFL potential.
Michigan football has proven that it is better at evalatuing and developing talent than just about any other program in college football, routinely taking three-star recruits and making them draft picks, as well as turning four-star recruits into first-round picks.
Stars do matter. But Michigan has a proven process that works and in terms of the 2024 recruiting class, here are three additions from Early Signing Day who could play early next season.
4-star RB Jordan Marshall (No. 83 overall)
With the way that Michigan football loves to run the ball, there might not be a better marriage in the 2024 class than Jordan Marshall and the Wolverines.
Marshall is ranked No. 3 in the state of Ohio, as well as No. 6 among running backs in the 2024 class. At 5-foot-10, 193 pounds, Marshall could have a role in the backfield next season for the Wolverines. Blake Corum isn't coming back and we don't know about Donovan Edwards.
Kalel Mullings and Benjamin Hall are other names that are going to be in the mix, as well as Cole Cabana -- even if Edwards returns. But Marshall is special and should get some carries next season. He's also one of the biggest recruiting wins for Michigan football in the 2024 class.
