There were plenty of things to be concerned about in the Michigan football loss to Texas. People sounding the alarm are right to do so.

However, the people saying that Michigan can still salvage the season aren't wrong. Michigan isn't going to win a national championship. But if some of the correctable things are fixed on offense and defense, the product could be much better than we saw on Saturday.

Next up for the Wolverines is Arkansas State. The Red Wolves beat Tulsa last week and Central Arkansas in the first game of the season 28-25. Butch Jones coached this team to a bowl game last season out of the Sun Belt, but if Michigan football struggles on Saturday, it will be time to panic.

Here's some key info, a prediction, how to watch, and more for Michigan football vs. Arkansas State.

Michigan football vs. Arkansas State odds

Michigan football vs. Arkansas State players to watch

Michigan: Donovan Edwards

So far Edwards has 18 carries for 68 yards and three receptions for two yards. Edwards did have a touchdown catch against Fresno State but he missed a chance for a big play on Saturday against Texas and Michigan football has to find a way to get him involved.

I have been begging for the coaching staff to get Edwards more involved in the passing game and with the Wolverines clearly lacking receivers it seems like a perfect time to create some mismatches.

Arkansas State: QB Jaylen Raynor

Michigan has struggled at times with mobile quarterbacks. Jaylen Raynor has rushed for 122 yards this season and two touchdowns. Those numbers aren't bad but he's also passing for 286 yards per game. He's not incredibly accurate, completing 57 percent of his passes but averages 7.2 yards per pass attempt and you can bet that Arkansas State will test Michigan's secondary.

Michigan football vs. Arkansas State prediction

It's still hard to get a read for this team, but like I said, I'm not that worried about Davis Warren. He's good enough if Michigan can figure out how to run the ball again. The Wolverines will need to get more creative on offense and cut down on simple mistakes.

Yet, Fresno State is a better team and scored just 10 points. This week will show that part of the issue last week was a really good Texas team. The Arkansas State quarterback will hurt the Wolverines a little, but Arkansas State averages just 3.3 yards per rushing attempt as a team. They give up 6.2.

So this should be a get-right game for the offensive line and the running backs. Alex Orji will probably get a few more runs and Davis Warren will able to take some shots by using play-action fakes.

Michigan scores more than in the first two games, but gives up a few scores too.

Michigan 41, Arkansas State 17
