Michigan Football surging with elite running backs on recruiting trail

In this article, I look at the impact that Tony Alford has had on Michigan football running back recruiting, looking at elite recruits who are visiting the Wolverines.

Michigan will be Hosting Two Elite Running Backs this Week

The news doesn't stop there. Alford and the rest of the staff will be hard at work with two more of the nations top running backs this week. Four star prospect Marquise Davis, also out of Cleveland, visited Michigan this week.

Davis is another guy who was a heavy Ohio State lean before Alford left. Davis visited for a spring practice, and by all accounts loved Ann Arbor. This is a recruitment that, like Jackson, didn't seem viable for Michigan before hiring Alford. Now, the Wolverines are squarely in the mix with Davis.

Something interesting to note is that I find it hard to believe that Ohio State would be able to land both Davis and Jackson, especially with Tony Alford gone. I think it's rather likely that one ends up at Ohio State, but that should give Michigan a great chance at the other.

The Wolverines are in a good spot with Davis, and if the Wolverines can bring him back for an official visit, the momentum will continue to build.
