Michigan football recruiting is hot right now. The Wolverines landed a huge commitment earlier this week in the form of Nate Marshall, and their momentum seems to only be building. The Wolverines have done a tremendous job of hitting home runs on visits and making prospects fall in love with Michigan.

The Wolverines are leading for a handful of top prospects, and it appears that, barring something unexpected, the Wolverines will land one of those top prospects next Friday. Four-star Michigan offensive lineman Avery Gach is set to announce his commitment on Friday, May 3rd, and all signs point to the Wolverines.

Gach announced a top four of Michigan football, Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Ohio State. While Gach is a Michigan State legacy kid, the Spartans have not been seen as a true threat throughout this recruitment. It's really been Michigan vs Ohio State. The Buckeyes have hosted Gach on a number of visits and have been strongly pursuing Gach.

Michigan football trending for a key commitment

However, this one seems like a foregone conclusion. According to ON3, Michigan football has a commanding lead in this recruitment, with a 94.4% chance to land the offensive lineman. Gach had previously said that he planned on taking his recruitment into the Summer, and planned on announcing his commitment after he had taken his official visits.

Michigan wanted to change that and have Gach announce earlier to be a cornerstone of the class. And it appears that they're convincing worked. Michigan has the luxury of being able to be selective with offensive linemen after taking a large class in 2024, and Gach is at the top of their list. He's a guy that can be a vocal leader in the 2025 class, and the momentum the Wolverines would gain through his commitment would be huge.

Things are setting up nicely for the Wolverines. After months of little movement in the 2025 class, Michigan suddenly has tons of momentum, and it appears that it will continue to grow next week. Keep an eye out for additional news.
