On July 13th, a top target for the Michigan Football team's 2025 recruiting class will announce his commitment. That recruit is three star wide receiver Phillip Wright. Don't let that three star ranking fool you either, as Wright is a track star who can fly down the field.

The staff is envisioning Wright as a kick return star and a menace out of the slot. According to his Twitter bio, Phillip Wright runs a 4.32 40 yard dash. As a junior in high school. That makes strength and conditioning coaches salivate just thinking about the potential there. Wright could legitimately get that down into the 4.2s in college with top of the line training.

Wright, a Louisiana native, is choosing between Michigan football, Georgia, and LSU on the 13th. Michigan has held the lead for quite some time here, and many believe that Wright could be a silent commit.

This one isn't without potential chaos, however. The hometown LSU Tigers have missed on a handful of top wide receiver targets, including the #1 receiver in the country, Dakorien Moore, who decommitted from LSU and is now an Oregon commit. The Tigers have an elite class already, specifically on the offensive side of the ball, and that could be especially enticing with the NIL game that the Tigers play.

There are some rumors that the Tigers could circle back to Wright in the future. While the consensus right now is that Phillip Wright will commit to Michigan football on the 13th, this is one that could go all the way to signing day. Wright is a guy that Michigan would love to have as a Swiss army knife in their offense.

Fans should be thrilled to potentially see Wright join the maize and blue. In the return game, he could be a guy similar to Giles Jackson when he was at Michigan. Jackson always found a way to get returns out towards midfield and give Michigan great field position, and Wright could do the same for the Wolverines. Let's hope that Michigan can officially seal the deal with Wright. Go blue.
