There is no such thing as too many resources when it comes to college football recruiting, so the fact that Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore hired away another Ohio State football staff member on Monday is significant.

Moore didn't get another on-field coach like he did with Tony Alford during the spring but Michigan football just lost a member of its recruiting department to the Chargers. And just like after the loss of Mike Hart, Moore turned to Columbus to fill the vacany.

Erin Dunston who had been working as the Ohio State assistant athletic director for football recruiting and events, is now taking over as Michigan football's director of operations, filling the shoes left by Christina DeRuyter. This is according to a report from Spencer Holbrook of Letterman's Row.

Dunston has been described as a "rock star" by those within the Ohio State recruiting operation. She also worked at Kansas and Purdue before being hired by the Buckeyes.

For Michigan football fans this is another move that should be celebrated. I know that Ohio State fans will minimize it and I get it. Losing an off-the-field recruiting staffer doesn't seem like a big deal. But all the little things matter and the more resources Michigan has for recruiting the better.

The director of operation was already a position so it's nothing new, but Sherrone Moore has now hired away two Ohio State staffers to work for Michigan football. That's part of being more "aggressive."

We'll see if that aggressiveness translates over to NIL but that's not really up to just Moore. The Athletic department needs to be more proactive. However, adding Dunston is a positive all around.
