1. Kalel Mullings would not be denied

In the last two weeks, Mullings has run for over 300 by himself. He has never done that in his career before and has put his stamp on the starting running back battle. He set the tone for the day with his first touchdown and sent USC home with a 63-yarder in the fourth to eventually punch it in from 2 yards out on fourth and goal.

Michigan's offense really didn't have any big plays coming into Saturday, but that changed when Mullings touched it. He had 116 of the yards on two of the plays. The other two came from Donovan Edwards and Will Johnson.

Edwards finally hit the home run that he has been seeking and had his best performance of 2024, but it wasn't enough to surpass Mullings, who had the ball in his hands in crunch time. Mullings was very Hassan Haskins like in the win. He's on pace for a thousand yard season and then some. Edwards has to win back the confidence of the coaches by holding on to the football.
