Michigan Football: 3 takeaways from an offensive loss to Washington

Down by 14 and with hope dwindling, Michigan football fought back in it to go ahead, only to lose it in the fourth quarter and squander a precious oppurtunity.

3. This loss snaps Michigan's record Big Ten winning streak

27 consecutive wins in the Big Ten are no more. This was Michigan's first Big Ten loss since 2021. The good thing is that they won everything that they could have since that date, but the bad thing is that they don't have the roster or coaches that they did back then either. This may be the first of a handful of conference losses this season, so buckle up.

As tough as it is to accept, this was expected. Michigan football will have to suffer this year, assuming it continues to go like it did Saturday night. You can make all the excuses you want, but it won't change the rickety 4-2 start. All hope isn't lost, as we saw in the USC win, but that win is less impressive after they got knocked off in Minnesota.

Going into the season, Week 6 was supposed to be an uneventful one, but it was not anything like that. Vanderbilt, yes Vanderbilt stunned number one Alabama. Tennessee got tripped up by Arkansas, Miami somehow outlasted Cal, and Missouri got hammered by Texas A&M. Just when we think we know what is going to happen, chaos erupts.
