Michigan Football: 3 overreactions to the Texas loss

Texas thoroughly dominated Michigan in the Big House on Saturday and ended several streaks in the process. Here's some overreactions from the affair.

2. Wink Martindale is the new Don Brown

This is one that was making the rounds on social media following Saturday's disastrous performance. One loss to a national title contender doesn't make this a true statement unless it is a recurring theme.

We still have to see what they do against the remainder of the schedule, which is getting harder by the minute. This is an overreaction for now, but might become true if they keep playing like they did on Saturday.

Martindale's defense was put in a precarious spot when the offense turned it over twice in the first half. They did only hold Texas to seven points in the second half, but the game was a wrap by then. Take away the 55 yard end around to Ryan Wingo and Michigan's defense only gives up 88 yards rushing.

31 points is the most given up since the TCU defeat and we all know how Michigan's defense bounced back from that debacle. I'm not saying that they are going to win out, but we know they still have the talent to keep them in games. It's just a matter of whether they can stay within striking distance.
