'Banged up' Mason Graham will play for Michigan football vs. Fresno State

There was some question about whether or not Michigan football star Mason Graham would be able to play against Fresno State.

Even though it was barely talked about, Michigan football defensive coordinator revealed earlier this week that star defensive tackle Mason Graham has been "banged up" during fall camp.

That freaked me out. Ohio State and Michigan State fans want me to be worried about some biased NCAA investigation that I still believe won't amount to much of anything, but the loss of Graham would be of real concern for the Wolverines.

Not only is he the best defensive tackle in the country and a projected first-round pick, but Michigan football also isn't as deep as it was last season.

It can't afford to be without Graham or Kenneth Grant. Rayshaun Benny is another starting-caliber option but he's always working his way back from injury. Enow Etta is among the others to watch but there's only one Mason Graham.

Michigan football DT Mason Graham "feels good"

However, Graham told reporters via The Wolverine on Tuesday night that he feels "good" and went "full speed" in practice. He said he was just "day-to-day."

Graham was asked about some of the other defensive tackles making noise this fall and Enow Etta was one of the players he mentioned. Etta is 6-foot-5, 308 pounds.

“Enow’s doing a lot of good stuff. I feel like he’s gonna be a player for us that is going to get a lot of snaps, and I feel like he’s ready to excel and show what he’s done this offseason and the whole time he’s been here,” Graham said. He latched on to a lot of us older guys, the coaches and really invested a lot of his time, and wanted a role inside. So that’s what he chose to do.”

Keep an eye out for Etta on Saturday but with less depth, Michigan football fans should get used to seeing Mason Graham on the field more too.
