Auburn projected to flip a top-100 Michigan football commitment
Michigan football landed a top-100 commitment earlier this week, and it seems like another one is about to walk out the door of the 2025 recruiting class.
Michigan football commitment Nate Marshall is getting pursued by Auburn again, which has momentum in its efforts to flip the four-star defensive lineman from Illinois. Marshall was a huge commitment for Michigan football when it happened. It was the first pledge under new head coach Sherrone Moore.
Marshall is also an elite prospect. At 6-foot-4, 265 pounds out of Oak Park, Illinois, Marshall is 46th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings.
Auburn is trending to flip Michigan football commitment
Auburn had momentum in the summer with Marshall and the Tigers even hosted him for a visit. However, Marshall took an official visit to Michigan football and said he was "solid."
I haven't worried about his commitment since then. But the Tigers have been working on him in the background and after a report on Thursday that the Tigers had "momentum" there was a slew of crystal ball projections for Auburn to flip the Michigan football commitment.
It would be a blow for the Wolverines for sure. Marshall is their top-ranked commitment in the 2025 class and landing a top-50 defensive lineman was massive. Losing his commitment will be massive too because there isn't a possible replacement in the 2025 class.
Surely, Michigan will look for other defensive line prospects, but they aren't going to get another top-50 recruit or even a top-100 kid at this time. It is what it is but there's no sugar-coating it and if Auburn pulls off the flip, it will be a huge blow to the 2025 Michigan recruiting class.
