There's no rest for the weary and that certainly applies to Michigan basketball head coach Dusty May who has had his nose to the grindstone from the day he was hired.

May has been actively trying to lure players from the transfer portal. He's also started to find some success as former FAU center Vlad Goldin has been trending with expert projections for him to commit to the Wolverines.

However, on Wednesday, we have more news breaking about the Michigan basketball coaching staff. The latest reported addition is St. Mary's associated head coach Justin Joyner. The move was first reported by Jon Rothstein, a CBS Sports college hoops insider.

It's not clear what role Joyner will play on the staff. Michigan basketball is allowed to have three coaches who coach during the games, and in practice, plus two who can coach just during practice.

This is the third reported hire of an assistant coach. Mike Boynton, who is the former head coach of Oklahoma State. Akem Miskdeen is also reportedly going to join the staff from Georgia. However, none of the moves have been officially announced by Michigan, so there could be some background checks and things to still be completed.

Joyner has spent the last eight seasons working under Randy Bennett at St. Mary's which is a consistent NCAA tournament team. Joyner has worked his way up to assistant head coach, which makes me believe this will be an on-court coaching role. Bennett even talked about Joyner's contributions when he was promoted, along with Mikey McConnell to assistant head coach.

“Justin and Mickey have been invaluable to our program during their tenures. They both have incredible basketball knowledge and are well-respected within the locker room. This promotion is a testament to the hard work that they have put into coaching, development, and recruiting over their time at Saint Mary’s.”

It seems like May knocked another one out of the park. Building a staff is critical and it's impressive to be that May has been willing to go outside his comfort zone to find the best people and the best fits.
