You always hear some interesting things in the press conference leading up to bowl games, but Thursday Alabama players had some very interesting comments on Michigan football.

Players and some assistant coaches, talked about how Alabama players were taking a different approach to watching film this week. Players were told not to watch film on their individual I-Pads and according to these players, it's precaution due to the Michigan football sign-stealing scandal.

It's pretty wild. I wouldn't read too much into it, in the sense that I don't believe Michigan football was ever "hacking" anyone's practice film. It's just crazy to me that this story won't die.

Domani Jackson chooses Alabama

In some Michigan football news that is disappointing, former five-star cornerback Domani Jackson has committed to Alabama. Jackson took a visit to Bama's Rose Bowl practice and the former USC corner, who was also considering Michigan football, chose to continue his career in Alabama.

Outside of Will Johnson making a push, it didn't seem like Michigan football made that strong of a push for Jackson. It seemed like it would have been a match made in heaven, especially pairing him with Will Johnson, but the Wolverines clearly have other plans for their need at cornerback.

Michigan football transfer departures

The Wolverines did lose a couple of defenders via the transfer on Thursday. One of them was former four-star freshman Cameron Calhoun. Calhoun is a cornerback from the state of Ohio. There were some high hopes for him, but Calhoun will play elsewhere in the future.

Another Michigan football player entered the transfer portal and that's linebacker Joey Velazquez. The two-sport athlete didn't get much playing time for Michigan football, but he's been a solid baseball player and had four home runs last season. It's unclear if either player will remain with the team during the Rose Bowl game.
