Michigan basketball fans have been waiting for the first domino to drop in terms of the transfer portal and it could be coming soon after a new crystal ball was entered on Sunday for the Wolverines.

Travis Branham, a national recruiting analyst for 247 Sports covering college basketball, got Michigan basketball fans excited on Sunday with a crystal ball projecting Vlad Goldin, a 7-foot-1, All-Conference center from FAU to wind up with the Michigan Wolverines.

Goldin has been one of the top targets for the Michigan Wolverines since he entered the portal and declared for the NBA draft. Goldin averaged 15.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks last season under Dusty May for the Owls. He was also incredibly efficient from the floor shooting 67.3 percent from the field.

Michigan basketball has also been viewed as one of the favorites for Danny Wolf, another big man from Yale, but Wolf can play on the perimeter a little. He can be a stretch four. Wolf shoots the ball well and can even handle it. So Goldin and Wolf would be an ideal pairing.

Add Will Tschetter to the mix and it's at least a start in terms of the Michigan basketball frontcourt going into the 2024-25 season.

Michigan Wolverines crack top 8 for transfer

Michigan basketball is hoping to land Johnell Davis too but the Wolverines still could use a true point guard. Clark Slajchert is a Penn transfer that fits that description.

Slajchert was Second-Team All-Ivy in 2023-24 and averaged 18 points, three rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game. He also shot 42 percent from 3-point range. He's got two years of eligibility left and the Michigan Wolverines are among his top eight along with Cal, UCLA, Utah State, Stanford, San Francisco, USC, and Davidson.

Michigan baseball earns series win over Iowa

On Saturday, the Wolverines notched a 4-3 win over the Hawkeyes thanks to the arms of Mitch Voit and Will Rogers. Voit got the win, his third of the season after 6.1 innings of work. He allowed three runs but struck out five batters. Rogers who entered the game with a slim lead, wrapped up the win after allowing just one hit and zero runs in over two innings. Collin Priest tied the game for Michigan, when it trailed 2-0, on a two-run home run. Michigan got the game-winning RBI on a base on balls.

He blasted two doubles and drove in two runs for the Wolverines. A.J. Garcia also had two hits (one double) and an RBI. Michigan baseball trailed 6-5 in the top of the 8th when Garcia's double tied the game. Voit then doubled to score Garcia. Jacob Denning got the win after allowing four runs on eight hits in seven innings of work.
