A new crystal ball for Michigan football in 2025, plus another positive trend
Defensive line recruiting is heating up for Michigan football. The Wolverines got some good news on Tuesday as it was reported by Allen Trieu of 247 Sports that four-star defensive line Jaylen Williams was canceling an official visit to Miami, to go to Ann Arbor.
The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder out of Palatine, Illinois is ranked No. 236 overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. Michigan football was the crystal ball leader already thanks to a slew of predictions back in November.
But, it was hard to read where things stood, especially without an official visit on the schedule. But Trieu, after reporting the official visit, put in his own crystal ball projection for the Wolverines, which gives them four total to land the talented D-line prospect.
Michigan football projected to land another four-star D-line recruit
Michigan has also become the favorite in the recruitment of four-star defensive lineman Maxwell Roy. The 6-foot-3, 290-pound defensive line prospect out of Philly, was also projected to land with Michigan football according to the On3 recruiting prediction machine.
There was a big shift toward the Wolverines after EJ Holland and Zach Libby of The Wolverine both logged expert projections for Roy to commit to U-M. Penn State, Ohio State, and Rutgers are some of the teams involved with Roy, who has had a really quiet recruitment.
Holland wrote that an official visit is expected later this month. That could seal the deal for the Wolverines who could be on the verge of two blue-chip commitment on the defensive line.
