5 things we learned in Michigan football win over Minnesota

Michigan football survived against Minnesota but the way the game ended left plenty of questions for the coaching staff moving forward.

Donovan Edwards still needs to be used more effectively

One of the best things I saw from the offense wasn't even a play or a result, but the fact that we saw Michigan football finally putting Kalel Mullings and Donovan Edwards on the field at the same time.

Both were on the field when Edwards was open for the touchdown. Orji just missed him and tried to hit a post that was intercepted. The more you do that though, the more defenses will have to pay attention to Edwards. He's just too dangerous to ignore.

If he gets single-covered on the outside, it should be a go route. He can learn how to run a drag and a curl. That's all he needs to be more of a wide receiver/running back. Edwards should still get carries. He had nine for 32 on Saturday.

I actually want him to get more because he can hit a home run. Mullings and Edwards feel like the only guys capable of creating a big play, along with Colston Loveland -- depending on if Orji can get him the ball. Loveland was wide-open on the interception.

Going forward, Edwards and Mullings should be on the field together almost exclusively because not only is Edwards one of the best runners, he's also one of the best receivers on the Michigan football roster.
