5 things to watch for Michigan football vs. Minnesota
Can Michigan throw the ball?
The Wolverines showed last week that they can beat a 11th-ranked USC by throwing for just 32 yards, so it's not hard to believe Michigan football could do that again.
The thing about playing that way though, is you have fewer ways to win. If Michigan has an early mistake or gets behind 14 points, coming back will be tough. Hell, that four-point USC lead felt like a lot in the fourth quarter until Mullings impersonated Marshawn Lynch.
Sherrone Moore talked about how the Wolverines were going to expand what Orji can do. They need to because there should have been more creativity last week. But with Orji as a running threat, along with Mullings and Edwards, the Wolverines should be a threat for 250-300 yards every week.
Orji will need to hit some passes eventually. The play-action deep shots will be there and it's good to throw those even if you miss. It keeps the defense honest and eventually, Orji will connect on one or two.
Orji probably isn't due for a huge game but I can definitely see him throwing for more than 100 yards. If not, that means the Wolverines dominated on the ground or the offense struggled, or both.
