So far, Michigan football hasn't had a single starting player from last season depart the program via the transfer portal.

That's the good news. The bad news is that there is still time in the current transfer portal window, plus there will be another window in the spring.

Beyond that, there was a departure last Friday as Keon Sabb, an up-and-coming player, entered the portal.

Sabb is a former top-100 recruit and spent the past two seasons playing defensive back for Michigan football. He was committed to Clemson before the Wolverines were able to flip him just before signing day after Brent Venables left Clemson to the be the Oklahoma head coach.

Last season, Sabb tallied 28 tackles, two interceptions, and a key pass breakup in the national title game. He also returned an interception for a touchdown against Minnesota.

Four Big Ten schools and others targeting Keon Sabb

Since he entered the transfer portal last week, Sabb hasn't had any shortage of suitors as the Michigan football defensive back has had 18 schools reach out according to Hayes Fawcett.

Sabb wasn't expected to start at safety for Michigan football this season with Rod Moore and Makari Paige back but he was going to see significant snaps. I hope that new secondary coach Lamar Morgan is at least trying to convince him to return because he would be a valuable piece.

As it stands, I've got my eye on Alabama and Oklahoma. However, four Big Ten teams: Oregon, Penn State, Minnesota, and Indiana have also reached out to Sabb, who is the top-ranked player available in the transfer portal right now according to 247 Sports.
