Michigan football has been on fire in the month of June. it's usually a good month for the Wolverines and was once again in the 2025 class.

On Saturday, Julius Holly committed to Michigan football. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound EDGE out of Alpharetta, Georgia is ranked No. 301 overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He's the No. 22 EDGE and is the 10th blue-chip commitment in the 2025 class for the Wolverines.

Holly chose Michgan football over Texas A&M, Georgia, and Ole Miss. It's the eighth commitment in June and the 13th overall for the No. 15 class in 2025 acording to the 247 Sports team rankings.

Here are three thoughts.

Another talented pass rusher for Michigan football

Holly is a little different than many of the players Michigan football has recruited at EDGE. The Wolverines tend to love those 6-foot-5 or 6-foot-6 pass rushers. That's Jaylen Williams and Nate Marshall who can play multiple spots along the defensive line.

Holly is a little different is more of a true EDGE. He might not have the prototypical size but he can rush the passer. Holly had 57 tackles last season, eight sacks, and three pass breakups. Holly has natural ability off the EDGE and he's been a productive player at a high level of football so there's a lot to like.

Lou Esposito is killing it

You have to give Lou Esposito credit. He's done an incredible job since taking over during the spring as the Michigan football D-line coach. Esposito has landed three blue-chip commitments since then from Jaylen Williams, Nate Marshall, and now Holly.

Esposito has also kept Bobby Kanka and Nate Marshall from flipping at least so far and this latest commitment gives him three blue-chip commitments in a couple of months on the job.

That's very promising for the future.

Michigan football far from finished

There have been a couple of recent misses such as Jordon Davison and also it looks like Maxwell Roy is going to wind up at Ohio State, but there are other blue-chip prospects deciding in the coming days.

Four-star offensive lineman Hardy Watts is expected to announce Monday. Andrew Olesh has talked about a commitment on Monday too. Nothing is ever certain in recruiting but if that commitment date doesn't change -- Olesh has expressed uncertainty, than Michigan should land two more commitments on Monday from blue-chip recruits.

That would be 15 commitments total and 12 blue chips. Andrew Marsh and Taz Williams are also favored to land with Michigan and the Wolverines are putting together what could be a top-10 class.
