The wait for Michigan football fans will finally come to an end on Saturday as the Wolverines will be back on the field for the first time since winning the national championship.

It won't be an actual game. But Michigan football will hold its spring game and it will be as close to a game as possible. The Wolverines have been split into two teams. There are the Maize and Blue teams and the Wolverines have already held the draft.

We don't know the teams yet. But we know the key questions on the minds of Michigan football fans. We have already addressed some of the position battles going into the game, but here are some thoughts on the quarterback position, the defense, and more.

Will a quarterback favorite emerge?

Michigan football fans know that replacing J.J. McCarthy, a once-in-a-generation quarterback isn't going to be easy. Opposing fans said that McCarthy "didn't do much" last season but we know different. He carried the offense and this season, the O-line and running backs will have to carry the day.

The difference is that Michigan could have a true running threat at quarterback. McCarthy was a very real threat to run but due to injury and just wanting to protect the golden goose, the coaching staff was hesitant to run McCarthy. That won't be the case with Alex Orji.

I don't know if Orji will run a bunch during the spring game. We know what he can do on the ground and the quarterbacks probably won't have live contact like the other positions. We need to see how Orji and these guys throw.

Davis Warren and Jadyn Davis are two quarterbacks I'll be watching closely. Warren has come on in recent weeks and Davis is getting some buzz. I don't expect the quarterbacks to dominate though. They are going to struggle, we just need to see some signs of progress going into the fall.
