3 things we need to see from Michigan football vs. Minnesota
By Nick Popio
2. More explosive plays
For Michigan's offense to keep improving on a weekly basis they will need to get more chunk plays, specifically in the passing game. Getting Colston Loveland back and throwing the ball more down field past 20 yards or so. Giving Alex Orji the confidence to unleash his arm and work on his accuracy and timing with his receivers. And getting Donovan Edwards more involved out of the backfield should still be a necessity.
In the run game, keep using multiple backs and ride the hot hand in the biggest games. Give Ben Hall and Jordan Marshall a few snaps here and there. Be patient and find the holes that the offensive line open up. Another 200 yard plus performance against Minnesota is realistic with how the o-line has been dominating the past two weeks.
Defensively, more chaos with sacks and turnovers. The line played lights out and has to continue to build off of that. Josiah Stewart is becoming that pass-rushing menace off the edge that Michigan hasn't had since Aidan Hutchinson. In the secondary, Jyaire Hill also impressed with his best game and more improvement from him would be an added bonus. Wink Martindale is seemingly getting more comfortable with his unit every time out.
