3 takeaways from Michigan basketball win over Wisconsin

It looked like the same old song and dance in the second half when Wisconsin went up by four, but Michigan basketball flipped the script and captured its headlining win of the season.

2. Michigan's got Wisconsin's number at home

Dating back to about a decade ago, the Wolverines have now won five of six over the Badgers inside the Crisler Center. Right before covid broke out was the last time that Wisconsin was triumphant in Ann Arbor. A year later they lost in Madison, which turned out to be one of their five losses in the shortened season.

In total Michigan basketball has taken three in a row from the Badgers at home. Last year was the wild Hunter Dickinson buzzer-beater that sent it into overtime. It concluded a three-game winning streak that kept them on the bubble until they lost the final three and things have gone south since then. Michigan hasn't even had 10 wins total since that happened.

Next year will be different with the four Pac 12 schools entering the conference. They will play at least once, but the date hasn't been set yet. As for the not so distant future, they won't meet again unless they somehow matchup in the Big Ten tournament, which is unlikely based on both of their respective trajectories.
