3 reasons Michigan football will beat Washington in national title rematch

It's been a bumpy road so far for Michigan football this season but here are three reasons why the Wolverines will beat Washington on Saturday.

More elite talent

It remains to be seen if the coaching staff can get the most of its talent, but the Wolverines have 3-4 first-round picks on this roster which includes Will Johnson who is expected to play on Saturday night.

USC beats Michigan if U-M doesn't have Will Johnson or even Stewart, who thwarted much of their passing attack. Michigan's star players can do the same thing to Washington's which is Will Rogers.

Rogers is going to have to have a great game to beat Michigan. He threw for over 300 yards against Rutgers, but the Huskies settled for four field-goal attempts and 18 points. I can see a similar thing happening on Saturday night.

Rogers is going to get hit and he'll get flustered. He's also not the kind of quarterback who can move well and the Wolverines should be able to tee off. Rogers having a big game is Washington's best chance to win and it feels like all of Michigan's best players will be there to thwart that effort, as long as the offense can be somewhat competent and avoid turnovers.

The defense has to figure out how to avoid wearing down and a huge part of that is Sherrone Moore figuring out how to keep his offense on the field in the second half of games.
