3 reasons Michigan football will beat Texas in Week 2
Michigan will be able to run the ball
A year ago, Texas had their own version of Kenneth Grant and Mason Graham in defensive tackles T'Vondre Sweat and Byron Murphy. Both of those guys were early NFL draft picks and will no longer be terrorizing college backfields. Texas hasn't been very strong defensively in recent memory, and without those two, I expect 2024 to follow that trend.
Michigan's offensive line should be able to generate push up front, and the Wolverines will be able to find success in the running game. With the combination of Alex Orji, Donovan Edwards, and Kalel Mullings, Texas will be on their heels trying to figure out who the ball carrier is going to be.
While Michigan football will need to throw the ball with some success to win the game, they should be able to find success in the running game, which is paramount to their offensive success. Now, I'm not saying this is going to be like 2022 Penn State where the Wolverines rushed for over 400 yards, but I think that 200+ yards is definitely possible.
This game will likely be low scoring, meaning that success on the ground will be huge for a Wolverines victory.
