3 post-spring breakout candidates for Michigan football on offense
WR Fredrick Moore
Michigan football added two wide receivers this spring from the transfer portal in former Wolverine Amorion Walker and also CJ Charleston from Youngstown State.
Those guys are going to have roles this season but one of the holdovers, rising sophomore Fredrick Moore, is a name I have circled as a prime candidate for a breakout season.
Moore made a couple of big plays in the spring game and it wasn't surprising to me at all. I loved him coming out of high school. The one criticism was he didn't have the top-end speed you want to take the top off of the defense, but Moore just has a different speed when the ball is in the air.
Some guys are better on the track, while others are faster tracking the football. Either way, Moore doesn't look slow on the football field. He made explosive plays in the spring game and there's a chance he could be WR1 by the time the season is over.
Loveland will be the go-to target in the passing game. But Moore will be right there with Tyler Morris and Semaj Morgan and as long as they stay healthy, receiver depth won't be that big of a concern.
