3 post-spring breakout candidates for Michigan football on offense
TE Marlin Klein
Another Michigan football player who stood out during the spring game is former three-star tight end recruit Marlin Klein.
Klein is German and started playing football in high school and the 6-foot-6, 250-pounder has a bright future which it seems like he started to realize this spring. It was always going to take Klein time to develop but he looked the part in the Michigan spring game.
The Wolverines are big on using their tight ends and they have been a staple over the past three seasons. Sherrone Moore has used a ton of multiple tight end looks and while Colston Loveland is a future first-round pick, the No. 2 tight end will get plenty of opporunities as A.J. Barner did last season.
Klein looks poised to take over that role. Max Bredeson is a name to watch too. He's going to play because of his blocking ability, but Klein has big upside as a pass catcher too. It's going to be fun to see teams trying to defend Loveland and Klein who can be the best friends to whoever winds up being the Wolverines' starting quarterback.
