2. The Big Ten has caught up to the SEC in conference supremacy

Although it is refreshing that someone else besides the SEC has the crown, its still not enough to say this. That makes this an overreaction until the next go around. The SEC was one win away from playing for the trophy, while Georgia imposed their will on Florida State to make a statement that they belonged in the final four.

The SEC is still the nation's premiere conference for the time being. The Big Ten did have the most wins in the bowl games, but the SEC wasn't far behind. They were tied with the Big 12 and ACC for second place. However, Michigan football won it for the Big Ten with both playoff victories. So to the victors goes the spoils.

Penn State and Ohio State both lost their respective bowl games to SEC foes, which also dispels this topic. Oregon won the Fiesta Bowl, but it doesn't count toward the Big Ten's record. These three schools are in the second tier of the conference chasing Michigan football. To overtake the SEC, one or two of them will have to compete for the title again next year, alongside Michigan of course.
