2025 Recruiting is fully underway now, with visits being planned and happening within the coming weeks and months. The 2025 class is going to be a crucial one for the Wolverines. After back to back lackluster classes, Michigan football needs an elite class if they want to stay at the top of college football.

With that being said, there are three specific areas I think the Wolverines need to hit home runs in. Luckily, as things stand, the Wolverines are in a good position. But whether or not that'll stay the case remains to be seen. Let's dive right into it.

Multiple Elite DBs

Michigan football has somewhat struggled with DB recruiting recently, which is odd considering their defensive success. The 2023 class was highlighted by four-star Jyaire Hill, ranked in the 200s, and the 2024 class was led by Jo'Ziah Edmond, who was a three-star when he committed to Michigan but leaped to a borderline top 100 prospect. Those are the lone four-star DBs the Wolverines have signed over the past two cycles.

The 2025 class is loaded in terms of DBs, and Michigan football is in on a handful of elite ones. In my opinion, we need to see the Wolverines land at least three four-star DBs. And it should be doable. Some of the guys Michigan is doing well with include 5 Star Safety D.J. Pickett, top 25 prospect Trey McNutt, top 100 prospect Mark Zackery IV, and four stars Alex Graham, Dawayne Galloway, and Jahmari DeLoatch.

Of the group, I think that Graham, DeLoatch, Galloway, and Pickett are Michigan's best chances. However, it's important to note that with new DBs coach Lamar Morgan, we don't know what will happen. Some recruits will connect with Morgan and the new staff better than others, so changes are definitely very possible.

The Wolverines are currently heavily favored for Alex Graham and Jahmari DeLoatch. That would be a great start to this DB class. Michigan football needs some top prospects here.
