Ohio State football is so tough, they have to protect their team from having big, bad Dave Portnoy in the same stadium as the football team.

Even though Michigan football fans have had to tolerate Ohio State superfan Urban Meyer on Fox Sports Big Noon Kickoff, as well as Kirk Herbstreit on the air for years, the Buckeyes have banned Portnoy from entering the Horseshoe on Saturday as part of the Fox pre-game show. This is according to a report from Front Office Sports, citing sources.

Portnoy, a long-time Michigan football fan, who hasn't been shy about his hatred of Ohio State, or his love of Connor Stalions, is the founder of Barstool Sports, which signed a deal with Fox that included the presence of Portnoy on Big Noon Kickoff.

Ohio State didn't respond for comment, and the ban hasn't been confirmed. But knowing Ohio State as we do, it's hard not to believe, even if it's incredibly soft.

Remember, last November, after Michigan football beat the Buckeyes as a 20-point underdog, the Wolverines planted their flag in the middle of the field, leading to a fight, and one Ohio lawmaker proposed making flag-planting a criminal act in the state of Ohio.

Now, Ohio State is banning Portnoy, according to this report, because he says mean things about them as a fan of the Buckeyes' biggest rival, Michigan.

Michigan football fan Scott Bell, who is well-known on social media among both fanbases, summed it up perfectly: "We're a tough football program! (Just don't let the mean man who says bad things about us inside our stadium)."
