This has been quite the week for Michigan and things are only going to get better with the spring game around the corner. On the recruiting front, Kyle Whittingham is looking to pull a fast one on Kirby Smart, as a 5-star Georgia commit took a surprise visit to UM.
3 injured players Michigan football fans will miss at the spring game
That'd be cornerback Donte Wright, who has been Athens-bound since June 30. The elite defensive back locked in an official visit to Michigan for June 12, but this latest unofficial visit sure has people talking. If anything, it confirms that Wright is giving Whittingham and Co. a serious look despite being committed to the SEC powerhouse.

5-star Georgia commit Donte Wright just took a visit to Michigan
It looks like Georgia is doing everything it can to keep Wright on board, as Michigan isn't the only program that's working to change his mind. Per his 247Sports page, the 6-1, 170-pounder is also scheduled to take an official visit to UCLA, Oregon and Miami. He'll also be back at Georgia on May 29.
Wright of course isn't the only big-name playmaker that Whittingham is targeting at the position, as Joshua Dobson is also high on the Wolverines. This includes Dobson also making his way to Ann Arbor, as he'll be in town for the spring game.
Dobson is ranked five stars and the No. 3 cornerback in the country. Wright is the No. 2 cornerback in the nation per the 247Sports Composite rankings. Could you imagine a world where Whittingham is able to reel in the two elite targets?
As things stand, Michigan and Whittingham hold six commits for the 2027 class, but things are expected to explode for the Wolverines as more and more prospects take their trips to campus. Wright alone would be an unreal get for Michigan and the buzz surrounding his interest in the program most definitely is exciting right now. We'll see how things go with Dobson this weekend too, as Whittingham is hoping to make a splash with both standouts.
