Joshua Dobson has rapidly become one of the most highly coveted recruits in the class of 2027, and that includes receiving attention and an offer from the Michigan Wolverines.

Dobson, the No. 2 cornerback and No. 8 overall prospect in the recruiting cycle, has received offers from across the country, including the Wolverines, but also from other powerhouse programs like the LSU Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

However, while he continues to receive more and more attention, it seems like Michigan and head coach Kyle Whittingham have caught his attention as well.

Earlier this week, Dobson announced that he had booked a trip to Ann Arbor, sharing that he would be in town this week for a visit with the Wolverines.

Joshua Dobson scheduled to visit the Wolverines

Dobson shared that he would be in Michigan on Thursday, April 16, making it his first trip to Ann Arbor since Michigan extended the elite cornerback an offer in July of last year.

This is the perfect opportunity for Whittingham and his staff to get their foot in the door of Dobson's recruitment.

In fact, Whittingham wasn't actually the head coach to extend Dobson an offer from the Wolverines, not taking over the program until December 26, 2025. Former Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore extended Dobson the offer, but Whittingham now has a chance to make himself the face of the program trying to land Dobson's commitment.

Now, don't get out over your skis quite yet, Dobson has truly made the most of his recruitment process, making 40 unofficial visits and two official visits so far.

However, how can someone resist the allure of everything that Michigan has to offer, much less say no to a program that is only a couple of years removed from winning the National Championship?
