Michigan football fans have been focused more on the transfer portal than high school recruiting but things are starting to pick in the 2026 class.

Michigan football coaches were out of the road this week. The Wolverines have been making headway with some top-tier running backs in the 2026 class, but on Saturday, there was more positive news on the recruiting trail as Gregory Patrick, a 6-foot-4, 275-pound offensive tackle visited the Michigan Wolverines.

Patrick is ranked as the No. 147 overall prospect in the 2026 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings. He's also ranked second in the state of Michigan. He's taken a few visits to Ann Arbor now to visit the Wolverines but this is a sign that the Michigan Wolverines are still the leader in his recruitment or at least near the top.

Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Alabama are some of the other schools in the mix for the in-state recruit who could grow into a stellar offensive tackle down the road.
