Michigan football recently decided not to pursue an appeal against the NCAA for infractions related to the Connor Stalions case. Sherrone Moore also decided not to appeal.
Stalions is going forward with his appeal. But for all intents and purposes, the scandal is over from a Michigan football perspective.
At long last, we have the official NCAA explanation of how Connor Stalions wound up on the CMU sideline in coach's gear.

4 ex-staff members have been punished, including 2-year show cause for Jim McElwain, as part of head coach responsibility.https://t.co/ZcF5Ql2jjb pic.twitter.com/b1Y9SadQOQ
Yet, we got more clarity on another angle related to the Connor Stalions case. Central Michigan head coach Jim McElwain got a two-year show cause penalty. Three other assistants were given pentalites, too.
Most importantly, Michigan football had no involvement. Stalions was allowed on the sidelines by the Central Michigan staff, which knew he was there. He was there to help them steal signs.
Rival fans still believe Michigan directed Stalions to go there, which is crazy. Michigan State huddled that season against the Wolverines during their game that season, even though Stalions wasn't on the sideline. Michigan won 49-0.
Michigan State started signaling during the game because it realized whatever it did, or whatever play it ran didn't matter. Anyway, it's good that the whole thing has finally been put to rest.
Former Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is healthy
The former Michigan Wolverines quarterback had two starts this season for the Vikings, before he was sidelined due to injury.
There has been a lot of talk about McCarthy, but he's healthy now. He threw two touchdowns and ran for one against Chicago in Week 1, earning NFC Player of the Week honors for the performance.
Many want to label him a bust. The truth is, McCarthy hasn't even had a chance to play yet. Sunday against Detroit would be start No. 3.
Bryce Underwood gets player rating update from EA Sports
Michigan football players received ratings updates for EA Sports College Football 25. Justice Haynes was boosted to a 91. He should still be higher based on the fact that he's the best running back in college football, but whatever.
Bryce Underwood was bumped up to an 83. Some have been critical of his performance, mostly the Spartan fans. Yet, Bryce has played well. He's completing 61.1 percent of his passes for seven touchdowns and just two interceptions. That's on top of four rushing touchdowns. Underwood is averaging 219 total yards per game.
The numbers might not be out of this world. However, the kid is 18. He's got two turnovers, and there have been more than just glimpses of greatness. He's been special at home, which is a big positive considering the Buckeyes come to the Big House next month.
