Following a gritty win over Nebraska on Monday, the Michigan basketball team has moved up in the latest Bracketology projections from ESPN's Joe Lunard.

In his latest bracket, Lunardi has Michigan basketball projected as a No. 4 seed. The Wolverines are slated to be in the East Region -- the same as Duke and Tennessee. Michigan basketball's first-round game would be in Seattle.

According to Bracket Matrix, Michigan is projected in all 116 brackets tracked by the site. The average seed for the Michigan Wolverines is a 3.77. Only Wisconsin and Michigan State are projected to be seeded higher than the Michigan basketball team.

On the women's side of things, the Michigan Wolverines have been on fire lately and that continued with a blowout win on Sunday over Penn State. Michigan women's basketball has won five of six games and will close out the home slate tonight against Iowa (7 EST, BTN+).

According to ESPN's women's Bracketology, the Michigan Wolverines are a No. 6 seed in the Fort Worth Region. U-M is projected to face either Harvard or Virginia Tech.

Michigan football coaching staff finalized

The Michigan Wolverines announced their finalized coaching staff for the 2025 Michigan football season and there were some shrewd additions by Sherrone Moore.

Biff Poggi was officially announced this week as the associate head coach, which was a great move. Poggi helped build the championship culture under Jim Harbaugh and will be a major asset to Moore.

Another great hire was Juan Castillo, the long-time NFL offensive line coach who is now a senior offensive line assistant. He should help Grant Newsome get the offensive line headed in the right direction.

Michigan football is also bringing back Erik Campbell. He was the Bowling Green Passing Game Coordinator last season and was previously the wide receivers coach for Michigan. He recruited and developed guys like Braylon Edwards, so again this is another solid hire. Pernel McPhee was named the outside linebackers coach and Travis Russell was also added as quarterback assistant.
