Michigan Wolverines news: Another 2025 flip and a Will Johnson injury update
After the post on X from Michigan football head coach Sherrone Moore on Thursday, you knew that a commitment was coming for the Michigan Wolverines, we just didn't know who.
On Friday, that question was answered as Jamar Browder, a 6-foot-4 wide receiver who was committed to North Carolina State, flipped his commitment to Michigan football on Friday.
According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Browder is ranked 800th overall in the 2025 class out of Lake Worth, Florida. He's also ranked No. 120 among wide receivers. However, Michigan Wolverines fans may have seen some of the highlights floating around social media. If you have, you feel even better about this flip, and if you haven't, here's a taste.
Browder meets the definition of a big, physical wide receiver. Michigan football is lacking that right now and that's why this is such a welcome addition. I understand the ranking and why some might shrug their shoulders, but I like what I've seen in his film and this is an underrated addition to the 2025 class for the Michigan Wolverines.
Will Johnson will miss the Indiana game
According to Pete Nakos of On3.com, Michigan football will be without Will Johnson once again on Saturday against Indiana. It might be fair to ask if we'll see Johnson again this season.
There are two games left after the bye week: Northwestern and Ohio State. Michigan football will likely need to beat Northwestern in order to guarantee themselves a bowl berth. Then, the Ohio State game speaks for itself as the last chance to salvage anything positive in the 2024 season.
My gut tells me that we will see Johnson play in those two games, but if he's not 100 percent, it's not worth the risk. Johnson doesn't owe the Michigan football program a damn thing. He's a legend and a national champion. He's also going to be a top-5 pick so he shouldn't rush back from injury. Period.
