There was some good news on the recruiting trail for Michigan football on Wednesday as four-star defensive back Elijah Dotson flipped from Pittsburgh to the Michigan Wolverines.

Dotson is a solid replacement for Ivan Taylor, who was ranked in the top 60 overall. He flipped to Alabama but Dotson is the second-ranked player in the state of Michigan.

However, Jaylen Williams, a 6-foot-6 defensive lineman and one of my favorites in the Wolverines 2025 class, flipped to Wisconsin. It's a huge bummer. He reminded me a lot of Mike Morris but it is what it is.

Hopefully, it will be the last decommitment for Michigan football in this class. Four-star tight end Andrew Olesh has been looking around but will visit this weekend and there does seem to be a little positive momentum with Bryce Underwood.

Biff Poggi coming back to Michigan football, for at least two days

The former Michigan football associate Biff Poggi, who was essential in building the Wolverines championship culture, was fired as the Charlotte head coach this week.

Poggi then posted that he would be spending Friday and Saturday with his "old friend" Sherrone Moore. They were on the coaching staff together and frankly, Moore shouldn't let Poggi leave the building.

Ask him how much money he wants and make him the associate head coach again. You can't bring back Jim Harbaugh and Ben Herbert, but Poggi would certainly be a nice addition -- for the rest of this season and for the future.

Michigan Wolverines cruise in women's basketball

Michigan's two freshman standouts starred in the Wolverines 96-31 over LIU on Wednesday night as Olivia Olson and Syla Swords each scored 20 points in the win.

Olson made 8-of-12 shots from the field and tore down nine rebounds. She also dished out four assists. Swords, who has been incredible since the opener against South Carolina, added seven boards and three assists to her point total of 20.

Michigan women's basketball improved to 4-1 on the season. Next up is a home game against Long Beach State on Sunday (2 PM).

Michigan basketball back in action
