Michigan football still doesn't have a head football coach, and one of the top targets, Alabama's Kalen DeBoer, took his name out of the running on Sunday.

DeBoer posted a statement that he had no interest in any other job. DeBoer reiterated that on Monday at a press conference.

Alabama plays Oklahoma this week. DeBoer should be focused on that game, but it is true that he's not considering Michigan?

It has felt pretty clear. Or at least it has for the past two days. DeBoer is hinting pretty strongly that he's going to stay at Alabama. However, Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider, doing an interview with the "Three-Man Front," said Michigan thinks it still has a chance to hire him away from the Crimson Tide.

"I believe Michigan thinks that Kalen DeBoer is still in play for Michigan," Webb said.

What to think about Michigan football and Kalen DeBoer?

There has been buzz about DeBoer since the beginning. It's still hard to see an Alabama head coach leaving for Michigan, especially after the team made the College Football Playoff.

There were some ups and downs during the first two seasons, but DeBoer has beaten Georgia twice, made the SEC title game, and the playoff.

We'll see if what Webb says is true. The one encouraging thing about the Michigan coaching search is that Chris Balas has reported that "money cannons" are firing.

That should ensure Michigan football gets a quality head coach. It just feels like DeBoer is a long shot and Michigan shouldn't waste too much time waiting on him.
