Derrick Moore has been one of the most underrated pass rushers in college football the past few seasons, but in 2025, the senior had a breakout campaign.
After 11 sacks in the first three seasons playing for Michigan football, Moore, who didn't play a ton of snaps this season, came away with 10 total sacks.
Moore finished his career with 95 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 21 sacks. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound EDGE started 24 games over the past two seasons. He played in all 15 during the national championship run, and is a solid run defender, as well as an elite pass rusher.
Moore might be viewed by some NFL teams as a bit of a tweener. He doesn't have ideal size for an EDGE. Moore played standing up and with his hand in the dirt for Michigan football, so whether a 4-3 or 3-4 team is looking for help, he could satisfy that need.
Michigan DE Derrick Moore strained his hamstring two weeks ago and will not run at this week’s combine.

Derrick Moore injury update
However, Moore is going to miss out on a major opportunity to boost his NFL draft stock. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday that Moore won't run at the NFL draft combine because of a strained hamstring he suffered recently.
That's a tough break for Moore. He's not viewed as a dynamic athlete, like some EDGE players. He could have used a good time and a good showing in some of the speed drills.
The Michigan football standout will get another chance at Michigan's Pro Day. He's also the kind of guy who just has a knack for getting after the quarterback.
This could impact his draft stock. I have felt that Moore could be a second-round pick. This could hurt his chances of going that early. If an NFL team needs a pass rusher, Moore is someone who should be targeted, especially on day two.
