Everyone is waiting for Warde Manuel and Michigan to announce who's going to be named the next head coach at Michigan. With Sherrone Moore being fired with cause, the search has been on to bring in a new leader that will help get the program moving in the right direction as soon as possible.

Latest Kalen DeBoer to Michigan speculation from ESPN has people talking

Biff Poggi has stepped in as the interim head coach and he was beloved by the players even before all of this drama went down. While plenty of people are pushing for either Kalen DeBoer or Kenny Dillingham, not everyone thinks that'd be the best move. Nope, if you ask senior tight end Marlin Klein, he thinks Manuel should give the job to Poggi:

Michigan TE Marlin Klein wants to see Biff Poggi named new head coach

"The person he is, he truly just cares about the people in the building," Klein said. "Not just the coaches, not just the players, but really everybody. He cares about the janitor and he wants to make sure that everyone's doing good. You can just tell he has a relationship with this place where it's a part of him. He's a Michigan man and he loves it here and everybody loves him. I do believe he's the right person for this job with me coming back or not."

Those are some passionate words from Klein, who has probably been in contact with Manuel about how he feels too. This might have a similar feel to the Terry Smith situation at Penn State, right? Smith earned the love and respect from the entire locker room once James Franklin was fired.

However, Pat Kraft made the call to hire Matt Campbell as the new head coach - Smith was retained in a different role. Could that end up being the case with Poggi if Manuel does go with an outside coach to take over the reins of the program?

That's all unknown, but Michigan supporters everywhere have been sitting on pins and needles waiting for some sort of an update to come in. For the past week or so, nothing but speculation surrounding the opening has come in.

DeBoer, Dillingham, Eli Drinkwitz, Jeff Brohm - the list goes on for who Michigan might bring in to replace Moore. With that said, there's also the chance that Poggi gets the role for 2026 and a new search takes place next year. There are plenty of moving parts here, but Klein pushing for Poggi to be given the job sure has people talking.
