Michigan football is fighting blue-blood programs for a number of recruits in the 2026 class, and one of those is four-star defensive lineman Titan Davis.
The 6-foot-4, 262-pound EDGE/defensive lineman is one of the top prospects on the board for the Michigan Wolverines. He's ranked No. 98 overall, according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, and he's also down to two teams: Michigan and Alabama.
This is according to a post from Allen Trieu of 247 Sports. Trieu reports that Davis had 46 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, and nine sacks as a junior. He is a bigger pass rusher but Michigan has had success with guys like that before.
Davis just visited Alabama last weekend. He told Trieu that he would make a final decision after his official visit to Michigan football on June 20th, in addition to canceling trips to USC and Penn State.
Wolverines have been trending up with Titan Davis
Michigan offered the St. Louis, Missouri, prospect last May. He's had 15 sacks over the past two high school seasons and also visited Ann Arbor this spring.
Davis could play in a four-man front or a three-man front. That makes him especially valuable to the Wolverines, who love those kinds of players.
Davis could turn into a Mike Morris -- a bigger EDGE or a Kris Jenkins -- a dominant three-technique. Either way, Michigan is in a good spot. Alabama doesn't feel like it has secured the momentum after his visit.
The Crimson Tide do have a 22 percent chance to land his commitment according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, but Michigan isn't far behind at 20 percent. There aren't any crystal ball projections yet.
However, the June 20th visit is a chance for the Wolverines to seize the momentum before a commitment, and hopefully, that's the way this heavyweight recruiting battle plays out.
